About BME Connect Summit

The BME CONNECT SUMMIT is Tanzania’s premier annual gathering that unites Biomedical Engineering students with Engineers,technicians, professionals, companies, hospitals,policy makers,industry leaders and investors from across the country. More than 500 participants come together for a two-day transformative experience of learning, innovation, networking, and collaboration. The Summit equips the next generation of biomedical innovators with competence-based skills in technology, entrepreneurship, and leadership, while offering direct engagement with industry leaders, policymakers, and investors. Through exhibitions, mentorship sessions, and open discussions, participants gain the exposure and opportunities needed to turn their ideas into impactful solutions that advance Tanzania’s and Africa’s healthcare systems.

Drawing from the summit's theme and sub-themes, identify a pressing healthcare challenge in an African context and propose a biomedical engineering-driven solution that is innovative, contextually appropriate, and sustainable.

Guidelines

Open to BME students in Tanzania registered for 2025/2026.
Write in English and keep the essay between 1,000 and 1,200 words.
Submit both PDF file.
Use Times New Roman, font size 12, and 1.5 line spacing.
File name format: Summit2026_YourName_UniversityAbbreviation.
Include on the first page: essay title, official essay question, short bio (max 50 words), and contact details.
Submit original work only; plagiarism leads to disqualification.
